"Do Good" Together
“We Are One" is a Corporate Social Responsibility project by MediaCorp, CapitaLand and LEGO Singapore. The idea is fun yet simple – to build a 5m by 8m Singapore island using 2x2 stud LEGO® bricks. Each lego brick you purchase is $2 and the donation will go a long way to help those affected by the economic downturn. The concept was inspired by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s call to the nation to show that we care for those who have been deeply affected by the recession. As we emerge out of this crisis together, it is a great opportunity for us to show our compassion.
How is the Labour Movement involved?
The Labour Movement U Care fund is one of the key beneficiaries of the "We Are One" project. We have seen workers across all collars coming together to help their fellow workers despite their individual plights and we hope that this spirit of unity in the Labour Movement will continue to shine brightly for this nation-wide cause.
How to be part of this good cause?
Simply come down to ION Orchard on the 14th November 2009, Saturday, from 10am to 7pm to show your care! For the first 10,000 Lego bricks (each brick costs $2) bought on 14 November 2009, NTUC will donate another $2 to the cause. You will then be able to place the 2nd brick on behalf on NTUC to help form the Singapore island Lego structure. In addition, Young NTUC activists will also be giving FREE HUGS to every kind donor from 12pm-1pm!
