Membership Benefits : Useful Information

1. What is the new NTUC Card?

The new NTUC Card is a magnetic stripe card that allows cardholders to earn & redeem LinkPoints at our Link Merchants. The new NTUC Card will replace the existing Gold NTUC Link Card (and Silver NTUC Link Card with hologram).

The existing Gold NTUC Link Card (inclusive of Silver NTUC Link Card with hologram) will not be used as proof of union membership with effect from 1 December 2004.

The new NTUC Card does not have the Cashcard and ATM facility. The LinkPoints will be stored on our backend system and not on the Card itself.
2. How do I use the new NTUC Card?

You have to present the new NTUC Card for issuance & redemption of LinkPoints at our Link Merchants. There is no change to the current practice.

You may log on to www.linkpoints.com.sg to find out more about the Link Merchants.

3. Is there an expiry date for the new NTUC Card?

No, there isn’t.
4. Can I use both the existing Link Card & new NTUC Card?

You will only be able to use your existing Link Card for LinkPoints issuance and redemption and as proof of union membership before 1 December 2004. With effect from 1 December 2004, only the new NTUC Card will be accepted.
5. Do I need to do a LinkPoints transfer from the existing Link Card to the new NTUC Card?

No, your LinkPoints will automatically be transferred to the new NTUC Card.

6. What will happen to the ATM facility if my existing NTUC Link Card has this function?

You may continue to use your existing NTUC Link Card for ATM transactions until further notice from your bank. If you wish to have a separate ATM card, please proceed to your bank to obtain one.
7. What will happen to my Cashcard value in my existing NTUC Link Card?

You may continue using the Cashcard facility in your existing Link Card as long as your card has not expired (subject to NETS & the banks’ terms & conditions). However, you are encouraged to deplete the Cashcard value.
8. How can I check my LinkPoints balance?

Cardholders enquiring on their LinkPoints balance can do so via:

i) NTUC Link’s website: www.linkpoints.com.sg
ii) Receipts from purchases made at Fairprice
iii) 24 hours IVR system
9. What should I do if my card is damaged, lost or stolen?

You should report the loss/damage to NTUC Membership Department. Replacement forms can be downloaded from the website at www.ntuc.org.sg.
